NYFW Hair and Make Up With GlamSquad
Hi all,
Thank you for stopping by! We've begun recapping some of the looks, outfits and details of a fabulous NYFW. Today, we're going to be talking all about hair and make up, as I was lucky to have partnered up with GlamSquad for hair and makeup for NYFW!
I usually tend to hide my face with my favorite pair of sunglasses or wear very minimal and subtle makeup (concealer, lipgloss and eyeliner and mascara) and NYFW was no different. Let's take a look, day by day, at the hair style of choice and the make up.
NYFW DAY 1
This first day was easily the most challenging one to plan for because we were experiencing a blizzard at the time. So I needed to take into account high winds, freezing temperatures and lots of snow.
So for makeup, I went for a more natural and dewey look. The dewey look is very feminine and youthful. This "no-makeup" makeup look was a big trend seen on the runways too so it turns out I was also "on trend".
For the hair, I chose to have it pulled back to prevent it from getting ruined from the elements. But to add some fun to it, I added volume in the front and tied hair around the pony tail. the final touch was to also curl the hair for fun in pony tail.
NYFW DAY 2
With the weather not being an issue for day #2, I chose a more chic, slicked-back bun as you see in the image above. How to achieve something similar? I have no idea - (lol!) but here what I can tell you: after it was slicked back, the pony tail was braided and then wrapped into a bun.
For makeup this time, I went for more of a darker eye to make my eyes pop since I was also sporting a pair of red glasses.
NYFW DAY 3
Day 3, a Saturday, started off with the Lacoste show so I was going for more of a sportier look. As a result, the hair and make up needed to match up, so I went for a top-knot bun. I've always wanted to sport one, but never felt like I could do it myself or that I had enough hair. Turns out you don't need as much as I thought you did! The make up was kept minimal and natural.
NYFW DAY 4
The weekend continued with a super fun day spent with my lovely girlfriends Marni and Lindsay as we were able to get ready together.
I was rocking a sweatshirt, so once again I opted for a sportier look - a huge trend that you will see this upcoming fall and winter. To not do the bun again, I chose a low pony tail to help create a more natural look. To add a smidge of glam, the team tied a small bit of a hair around the pony.
For make up, I went for a girly look to help balance the more casual and sporty look. This meant we added flirty lashes and had pink blush and lips. I was in need of a mani as well and went for a grayish blue color.
NYFW DAY 5 & 6
Both days 5 and 6 featured a hat, so I wanted to bring looks that would work nicely with the hat. On day 5 , I went for the pig tails as you see on the left-most image above. Fun, right? For day 6, I was attending the Alice + Olivia show, so I wanted a more youthful and cool look. So enter the beachy, loose wave you see on the above to the right. The make up featured a bit of a darker eye to bring them forth, but natural otherwise.
NYFW DAY 7
Final day of NYFW, and I had a big show to attend: Marchesa. So opposite to the majority of my NYFW hairdos, I went for a more formal look. But, I also wanted to add a bit of fun and youth. This chic updo, I thought was the perfect mix of the two as the hair pulled back is formal, but the braids add fun. For those wanting to try this at home, you can part your hair, make two separate braids then pull the braids up and pin in your hair!
I'm a big fan of natural make up, so the team went for a antural look with some copper tones.
Which hairdo was your favorite? Let me know in the comments below! Let me take a moment to thank GlamSquad for their professionalism and talent. Without them, I don't know what I would have done!
And thank YOU for reading! :)
xoxo,
