NYFW Outfit #3 + Styling Same Color Top & Bottoms
Hi all,
Today's post is all about NYFW and in particular, a very athleisure look that I sported out on the Saturday of Fashion Week to attend the Lacoste, TIBI and Self Portrait shows.
This outfit started with the top. The sweater, from Lacoste, was to be the one piece everything else is to complement. So when I was looking at what to pair the sweater with, I immediately thought of these red track pants - perfect for the athleisure vibe I was going for. Plus, I love not only the color and fabric but also the slit on the bottom. It helps show off your shoes! And speaking of shoes, to finalize the look and stay athleisure, I grabbed a pair of sneaker flatforms for height.
How to style top and bottom of same color?
This outfit in particular, I'm sure you noticed, had the sweater and track pants feature the same color. This can be tricky at times so I wanted to be sure to mention a quick style tip. When wearing a top and bottom of the same color, be sure to pick pieces made of different fabrics. This will help create a contrast and help differentiate the pieces. For another bit of contrast from the reds and for warmth, I added a navy military-inspired jacket to this particular outfit.
How do you pair tops and bottoms of the same color? Let me know in the comments below!
As always, thank you for reading!
xoxo
