NYFW Look: Be The Change

Hi all,

It's that time of the year! Rejoice fashion lovers and fashionistas - NYFW is here. I'm super excited to bring you some expanded coverage this season which you'll start seeing very soon. I hope you like it. But in this post, we're talking about this first NYFW outfit, a combination of a T shirt and a silk skirt with some handy - and affordable - accessories. Let's dive in:

Be The Change

NYFW is all about making statements - not necessarily super loud ones, but statements none the less. And I could think of no better message, given everything that is going on in this country and the world that to ensure we all remember that we can be the change we want to see. It's up to each and everyone one of us to make the decision to be someone, to see a change. We're not necessarily talking about saving the world, or inventing time travel. We're talking about simply things: holding doors, being friendlier, being supportive.

That last one is especially important to me because I have seen both sides of the coin throughout my experience as a blogger. Women that support you till the end of time and empower you to be better, be bolder and rule the world. And I have seen the complete opposite as well. Remember: you can start to make the change you want to see, so whatever is going on in your life and how externalities affect you, make the change and the rest will change with you.

NYFW Outfit

Love this outfit that is the perfect mix of high end and high street. I started with the top, a great message-T from Alice + Olivia, a brand you'll see me wearing quite a bit during Fashion Week. To let the T do the talking, I styled it with this gorgeous silk skirt available at BigDropNYC.

For accessories, I went with the tried and true: Zara. Sock booties are very much on trend right now and these white ones were one of those "must-get" items of the season for me. The white boots provide a nice pop at the bottom of the silk skirt. For the bag, this $50 bag is a super cute addition to any closet.

Let me know your favorite pieces from the outfit in the comments below! As always, thank you for reading!

xoxo,

Christie
