Miami Swim Week 2018 Trends
Swim Cuts & Design Details
Overall, we saw a lot of variety and designers having fun with fun cuts. Two of the more popular cuts I recall seeing were the high-hip and high-waisted bottoms and the "Sportif" or Athletic-Inspired swimsuits. Luckily for me, they've been some of my favorites as of late, so if you like the high hip or high-waisted, you'll be happy with next year's swimmies. Likewise, if you're athletic and like to work out, you can show off that bod and then head back to the gym (or vice versa) with the Athletic designs.
Many swimsuits also featured feminine detailing, like ruffles and such.
Colors
When it comes to colors, we saw a variety again, as always, but two colors or tones dominated: Earthly tones and pastels. Likewise when it came to prints, animal was rather popular with many designers opting for a leopard print.
Miami Swim Week Shows
Among the shows I attended, was the Monday Swimwear Show, a brand founded by Tash Oakley and Devin Grubman of A Bikini a Day, and I had the chance to catch up with the girls the day of the show. They were super excited and I truly loved their collection.
Some of the other shows I attended were Sinesia Karol, Pitusa, Mikoh, Agua Bendita, Gigi C, and Montce Swim. Speedo, a brand which you saw me wear a lot during Swim Week didn't have a show, but had a super fun events. The designs they featured were athletic in nature, bur so cute and cheeky as well.
ACACIA showed, but a conflict prevented me from attending and then PINKO showed off their Fall Collection, where the Western trend reigned supreme.
Don't forget, you can check out the highlights of these shows over on my Instagram, under Story Highlights from Miami Swim Week and do let me know in the comments below what you're looking forward to the most!
