The Sweater Dress: A Versatile & Fun Choice

This outfit was perfect for a gray, gloomy day in New York. One of my favorite pieces to wear on chilly days are sweater dresses. They are very versatile and be worn with almost anything. They also happen to be very comfortable as well!

A sweater dress can be worn to almost any occasion. For example: for work, it's comfortable yet not too revealing. Be sure to pair with neutral pumps - think nude or black - to keep it office-appropriate. Not in the mood for heels? Ballerina flats or booties will do just fine too.

Heading out for cocktails or dinner? Simply switch shoes and pair with a fun clutch and you're good to go. Swap the neutral pumps with a colorful shoe and you're set.

So let's talk about this outfit in particular and why it worked for me:

Aside from it being a chilly day, I wanted to make it a bit more edgy, so I added a black leather jacket - a NYC staple & favorite of mine. Since I was heading out for some drinks, I added the colorful shoes I mention above and chose these red pumps to pair with my red bag. To finish off the look, I grabbed some fun glasses as well.
