Matching Sets
Hi all,
Who doesn't love matching sets? There are few things that will be as effortless yet as chic as a good matching set. Today's post is all about matching sets and I'm using this one from Tobi to showcase the look.
How to Style Matching Sets
Matching sets come in many forms - pant and jacket, skirt and top, to pant or skirt plus crop top. No matter which one you choose, styling them is easy! When styling a matching set, use the set itself as the neutral and accessorize accordingly. Do keep in mind the fabric and design of the set when choosing your pieces. A very loud set will call for delicate accessories. A monochrome one should allow you to play around a bit.
Why Choose a Matching Set
There are many benefits of matching suits. As mentioned before they are effortless, so they come in very handy when you have no idea what to wear, perhaps have no will or time to sort it out and you need to look sharp. There's not much to figure out!
In particular, monochrome matching sets are perfect because they create an illusion of a taller and leaner figure as they draw the eye up and down!
Many items in our closets are season-specific or at least, feel more at home in certain times of the year. Some matching sets can be season-proof as well. Of course, we need to take into consideration the fabric and color of prints. For example, you probably want to avoid eyelet or crochet in winter! On the other hand, come winter, you can always add a turtleneck, tights or a jacket to your matching set and you're good to go! If you're styling with a crop top like I do here, consider adding a greater duster coat plus booties.
One of the most important things to keep in the back of your mind when you're purchasing a brand new outfit is versatility - you know I say this all the time. Matching sets are extremely versatile. You have the top and the bottom, and of course, they are two separate pieces. You can always use one without the other in a different outfit. For example, this set here has a top that isn't quite office appropriate so I can't wear it there. But what about the pants? I've worn them several times already!
