Tips to Wear White After Labor Day
Hi all,
We're talking all about white today because there's this old saying that you can't wear white after Labor Day. Well, it's time to reach for the white out and erase that notion from your head. You CAN wear white after Labor Day and into Fall. What we're going to talk about today is how to pull off white after Labor Day effortlessly.
White After Labor Day
Wearing white after Labor Day is all about fabrics. That's right: focus on thicker fabrics and put away the eyelet, crochet and espadrilles. We're looking for fabrics such as wool, cotton and even silk. Plus, we're all in luck, ladies, because white boots and mules are actually one of the biggest shoe trends this Fall. (Take a look at some of the other shoe trends here).
So put away the summer whites, look for these fabrics in your closet and step out in your white outfits and shoes this Fall!
Parker NY Keegan Dress
Today's look was inspired by this cotton, white dress from Parker NY. It's almost Fashion Week so I thought I'd have a bit of fun with the dress. I styled it with a pair of black fun pumps and added a statement bag and hat. I know what you're thinking: the hat is Summer-y Christie! It's true, you can start putting them away once the temperatures drop, but it's still pretty hot here in NY and technically speaking Summer is still here until September 21st! But if it's cold where you are, you can skip the hat.
How will you be styling white after Labor Day? I look forward to your comments below!
As always, thank you for reading!
