Super excited to bring you yet another shopping post, and today we’re talking about one of the trendiest items right now for Fall & Winter and that’s the Shacket! But Christie: what is a shacket? Are you making stuff up? No! A shacket is exactly what you think it is: a mix of a shirt and jacket! Let’s dive in and see what the trend is all about, how you can style your shacket and then go shopping!

A Shacket for you, a shacket for me!

You might be thinking: that’s it! Christie has lost her mind. But no, a shacket is super trendy for Fall & Winter 2020. You likely have seen it on Instagram and you might be thinking of joining along on the trend. A shacket, as mentioned above, is a mix of a jacket and a shirt. It’s that perfect layering piece for when it’s too hot for a jacket, and too cold for a shirt. Does that always seem to happen?

They’re generally oversized in nature, and are great at covering butts and thighs if those are something you don’t wish to really show off. Shackets tend to be masculine in nature, and you might even find yours in your husband’s or boyfriend’s closet.

To style a shacket, we want to balance it. As it’s masculine, pair it with some more feminine pieces. Think a dress, for example, or a piece in your wardrobe with feminine details. It also tends to be oversized, so look for pants, for example that are more tight fitting.
