Today we’re talking suiting - not only a great look to inspire confidence but also a big trend for Spring! How does a Suit make YOU feel? This one by St John Knits is just perfect - bringing in pastel colors for Spring, and the crop fit. Continue reading for a Fashion Psychology post & Save to reference later!
Perhaps we can blame it on virtual workouts from the last 2 years but Y2K looks are back, particularly midriff showing crop tops paired with skirt suits. Do you like suits like these?
Fashion Psychology and Suiting
Let’s talk the psychology behind suiting in general. A good suit can help us convey more confidence and competence. How so? Well, when we associate a piece of clothing with certain qualities, we can then take on those qualities when we wear it. This is especially true when we wear a suit! And it’s actually been shown to even help us with abstract reasoning (I.e., thinking outside of the box) and appear more competent when we wear one.
So while we may have just spent many months away from the office, perhaps it’s time to dress a bit differently now. But if a crop top for the office is too much, try buttoning it up for the board room and then opening it for dinner out or an event. Regardless, it’s the perfect statement-making piece.
So next time you’re in a situation that you need a little confidence boost or want to appear more competent (speaking on a panel, hosting an event, attending a social networking event) why not gravitate toward a skirt suit with a crop top, like this one?
