Today's Trip in Rewind series features Le Diplomate in Washington D.C. This oh so chic French cafe makes you feel like you're in Paris from the moment you see the sign from the street. Once you walk in you immediately see a stunning bar adorned with a bicycle, a la Tour de France and endless Veuve Cliquot bottles. If it wasn't for having too much fun the prior night, I would have asked for a mimosa or two!
There are two main dining areas, apart from the terrace, which is the main bistro area and then a connected green tiled terrace. We sat in the terrace and it was so beautiful that I of course had to ask my cousin to take a picture (thanks Maria!). After taking some necessary pictures, the waiter asked if we wanted the complimentary bread basket. We declined and asked for the pastry basket that is featured in the above images. I highly recommend this basket, it was so yummy! I also recommend the Tuna Carpaccio, one of the freshest I have had. The Macaroni Au Gratin was also incredible.
If you're visiting or live in the D.C. area, I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch or simply to people watch! For instance, while there I saw DJ Tiesto!
