Casual Glam Ft. Velvet & Ruffles
Hi all,
As I write this, the holidays are beginning to creep up on us. Thanksgiving is just days away! So I thought I’d discuss a holiday look that’s perfect for any event, and incorporates a fabric we've spoken about before: velvet. So let's dive right in:
Casual Glam With Velvet & Ruffles
So clearly this is a not your regular pair of denim and T look. But it's what I' call dress up, casual, or causal glam. It definitely makes an impression and it'll turn some heads thanks to the top, and you'll look well put together thank you the pants and bow with a dash of cuteness.
I’ve been obsessing over these velvet jeans from Veronica Beard for some time now. You may have even seen them be featured in my Velvet YouTube video recently and they've been on repeat. These pants feature a fun sailor style giving them a uniqueness feel to them. They fit perfectly and are a great statement piece while also being pretty subdued at the same time, partially because they’re black.
For today's look, I paired them with a striped ruffle top to add a pop of color and more of a statement. This top is the epitome of girly, thanks to its ruffles. Here, I tucked the shirt in to really show off the sailor buttons from the pants
For accessories, I added a great black sandal but feel free to swap out for a black toed bootie if it’s cold where you are. For bag, I grabbed my go to black purse that you may have seen on major repeat as of late. Then for my hair, and to continue the feminine theme, I added a black silk bow.
Where To Wear
This is a great glammed up look which is perfect for any upcoming events or nights out you might have. For example, Thanksgiving dinner (if your family likes to dress up a bit, or if you're heading out to dinner - see here for other Thanksgiving outfit options) If not, perhaps you have a holiday party coming up whether it’s a friend's or the work holiday party. Though if this event is held during work hours, swap out the sandals for a closed toe bootie to remain okay as per the boss. What I love this outfit for as well is a dressed up brunch or casual nice dinner with your girlfriends or your significant other.
How would you style the pants? And how would you style the top? Let me know in the comments below!
xoxo,
Christie
