A Floral Dress for Scotland
Hi all,
When I finalized the itinerary on my trip and knew that I was stopping in Edinburgh for only 24 hours, I knew I needed to find the right dress for its historic streets and locations. But that's quite the tall order, right? But this Tularosa floral dress was up to the task, thanks to its flowy nature. Let's take a look at the outfit and the city below!
A Little About Edinburgh
I'll be putting up a special Trip In Review article from my time in Edinburgh soon, but let me tell you: I feel in love with the city. It is historic, it's cosmopolitan, it's everything - and I had a great time. As a big fan of the TV show Reign (can you all believe it ended? So sad..), I wanted to visit the castle (or one of them) in which Mary, Queen of Scots, resided. Just to know that I'd walk around the same halls she walked 500 years ago was enough to make me go. I consider her to be one of the first girl bosses! So I knew I wanted to take a picture in front of Edinburgh Castle, and then hopefully walk around the city.
The Outfit
A little research revealed Arthur's Seat, a hike-able hill near the city that provided incredibly scenic views of the city and the surrounding country side. I knew whatever outfit I chose had to work near the castle and at Arthur's Seat. Now, of course you're saying "but Christie, espadrilles and a long dress are certainly not a hiking outfit". No, they're not, and the taxi driver pointed out the same thing to me. But, I had a specific vision in mind!
So in the end, I went for a fun, flow-y, floral dress available at Revolve from Tularosa. I thought it would be perfect for all the Edinburgh locations I wanted to visit. Plus, I needed something that would transition from day to night and this dress was it. I paired with my new Furla bag, which though at first I thought might have been a bit much, actually paired very nicely with the dress. To finish it off, I grabbed a pair of Espadrilles for support walking the cobble stone streets and hills.
Where to Wear This Floral Dress
You can wear this dress to many places and occasions. For example, you can wear it to a more formal event such as a bridal or baby shower or even a semi-formal wedding. To do so, simply dress up with formal accessories. Here, think statement earrings and a great heeled strappy sandal.
But this can also be worn for a more casual day. Try pairing the dress with a pair of great sneakers or athletic slides.
How else would you style this dress? Let me know in the comments below!
As always, thank you for reading!
xoxo
