Miami Swim Week Outfit: Milly Bow Dress
Hi all,
It's Swim Week here in Miami and so today's post is all about this beautiful look I picked for Saturday which features a stunning white bow detailed dress from MILLY.
Milly Bow Dress
I'm in love.
With this dress! For me, one of my favorite looks from Miami Swim. Plus, it might have a special meaning because I might be meeting the one and only Leighton Meister. Yes, I said it - the Blaire from Gossip Girl. Now, why did that show ever end? But, I digress... back to the look.
Today, I decided to pair the dress with a fabulous pair of shoes from marskinnyppy. - you can shop them here in beige here or black here. I haven't found these orange ones, but if I do I'll update this post. The combination is elegant and perfect for a night time event or a fancy dinner. For bag choice, I went for a fun summery straw bag that read "Bikini Life". The bag served two purposes: First, it sort of made the look more Miami and day-appropriate. But second, it made the outfit relevant to the events I was attending (Swim Week). It's always fun to have special occasion bags like this one, or the "Ciao!" you saw me wear in, you guessed it, Italy.
Styling a Bow Dress
This dress is fancy and elegant, so while it's obviously versatile to be worn to many occasions, it's also likely not one you want to go run errands with. But you can bring it on vacation or on a cruise with you. For a more causal look, style with heeled espadrilles, as opposed to stilettos. Chunkier espadrilles are more casual in nature and bring the dress properly into day-time activities. Alternatively, grab your go-to gladiator sandals too.
For night time events, including weddings, you can pair as I do here with heeled strappy sandals, but instead of the day-friendly bag, opt for a fun evening clutch. Lastly, if you're getting married soon, this could be a super fun engagement party or bridal shower dress as well. Sure to make an impression, but elegant and classy at the same time.
What shoes and purse that you own would you style this one with? Let me know in the comments below!
As always, thank you for reading!
