NYFW Look: All-American Girl
Hi all,
New York Fashion Week continues and today while yesterday, the look was NY-inspired thanks to the all-black, today I've decided to go for the all-American look with this amazing Tommy Hilfiger red, white and blue dress. On to the details:
Red, White & Blue Tommy Dress
New York Fashion Week is about making statements. Today's statement dress delivers another with its strong American colors. I wore this one to Jonathan Simkhai and felt very confident in it. The dress has a small pleated trail int he back that allowed the entire dress to flow really nicely as I walked and the wind hit against it. The deep V is what I consider to be the perfect mix of sexy, yet classy. It doesn't show everything, but it shoes enough to make it interesting.
In terms of styling this dress, there's no question that this is a statement dress, best worn to night time events in which you want to make en entrance. However, if you're not the type to be the center of attention at a party, you can subdue it a little bit by pairing it with neutrals. A great option would be to show a black leather jacket on top for the Fall & Winter months. Alternatively, you can also try styling a black turtleneck underneath and when it comes to accessories, black will be your friend again, as I recommend black boots or sandals.
NYFW Styling
For NYFW though, I wanted it to be the main focus of the outfit, of course, given its colors. I paired with one of the trendiest shoes of the season: sock booties. These white ones are from Zara. To go along with the white accents on the look, I opted for this white clutch to match the boots.
The outfit was featured on Cosmopolitan as one of the top street style looks of the day, so thank you Cosmo for that!
What do you think of the outfit? What event would you wear this one to and how would you style it? Let me know in the comments below!
As always, thank you for reading!
