Hot Shoe Alert: Nine West Scastien Slouchy Boots Review

Today's Hot Shoe Alert - NYFW Edition comes by way of Nine West and their amazing, new Scastien slouchy boots which I got to wear a few times already during Fashion Week in New York. So, let's take a in-depth look at the boots and how to style them:
Nine West Scastien Slouchy Boot
We recently took a look at some of the biggest shoe trends of the season (article & TV), which includes both the color red and the slouchy boot itself. This pair that you see me wearing here combines two trends into one for one hot pair of boots for Fall. Of course, the boots are also available in Silver Metallic (another trendy color) and Black Leather. I got to try all three and let me know tell you: you can't really go wrong. They're all fabulous! The red ones are suede, too.
They fit true to size and are comfortable to walk in, thanks to a padded insole. At 3''1/4, the heel is tall, but also not super tall where it would make it a challenge to walk. I'd say they're the perfect height, and the heel itself is thick too for extra comfort.
Styling The Nine West Scastien Boot
There are, of course, several ways of styling an outfit around these slouchy boots and the color and texture you end up picking might alter the final outfit a bit, but allow me to provide you with some ideas to try out.
I'm a big fan of how flowy skirts and dresses pair with the look. As you see in the images here, I did it with all three NYFW outfits. If you go for the red boots, keep in mind they are quite the statement. However, you can still add some color to your look. Rich jewel tones and neutrals work best. The black leather pair allows you to be a bit louder with the rest of your outfit.
But dresses and long skirts aren't the only way to style the slouchy boots. You can also wear them under boyfriend baggy jeans and style with a tee and blazer combo for the ultimate look.
If you'd rather show off the boots - and your legs - opt for a mini skirt. You can style with the same t-shirt and blazer combination too!
