NYFW Day 3: Longchamp and the Color Blue
Hi all,
Excited to bring you a new outfit post from NYFW! In case you haven’t kept up with all the coverage, there’ll be outfit posts here on the blog, day vlogs on YouTube, outfit pics on Instagram and some fun videos over on TikTok. But today, we’re talking about the Saturday outfit that I wore to Longchamp and Rebecca Minkoff - two of the shows I was most looking forward to going into NYFW. So let’s talk about these pants and why you might want to wear blue!
Outfit Details
I was inspired for this outfit from an image I had seen that featured a cropped sweater like this one, but the outfit actually began at the blue pants. These pants are everything and though they wrinkle easily, I’m in love with them. I found this cute black wool turtleneck cape, that essentially with some layering looks like a great cropped sweater as well and played around with layering over a black bodysuit, and a white one, with the white one being the chosen one in the end. It was also a cold day in NYC, so I grabbed a black beanie and black finger-less gloves.
As far as other accessories, since I was attending Longchamp, I knew I wanted to wear a Longchamp bag, and so gravitated towards this one. For the shoes, I opted for these sky-blue pumps to go along with the blue theme.
2020 Pantone color of the year
Classic blue is the Pantone color of the year for 2020 so be ready to see it everywhere. Last year, that honor went to coral and though it was heavily featured last year, it has still carried over to 2020 as well, so if you’re a fan of classic blue, you’re in luck!
Psychology Behind Color Blue
Blue in general can help you come off as trustworthy and more of a team player. So it’s a great option to wear for a job interview for example - think a navy blue suit.
If you don’t like wearing a lot of blue outside of say, denim jeans, then try adding it as an accent and pairing it with neutrals. So think of camel or white, for example, with a pair of blue shoes, a blue bag, or cardi!
