Q&A with MILLY
1. How many kids do you have/ how old are they?
Just had my first last year – Oliver. He’s 7 months! Growing so fast!
2. What is the best part about being a mom?
His smiles and laughter! Or him doing things for the first time, and it’s just so exciting for him (and me)! To see that excitement in his eyes, it truly is the best thing in the world!
3. What does having your own kids make you appreciate about your mom?
Her patience! Ha! Even though she had four kids by the time I had my first, so that’s just - wow! But her patience more than anything!
4. What’s one piece of advice you'd give to a new mom?
Don’t try to be the perfect mom. Being imperfect is perfect in and of itself. Even if you can be good at one thing at a time, focus on that. There’s sometimes this almost unattainable expectations in today’s society – forget about it. Be you, take care of your kids and enjoy every moment! To them, right now, you’re perfect.
5. A lesson you’ve learned from motherhood
It’s impossible to do it all! I had this vision pre-baby of having the ability to get ready, dressed, make up and be a good mom, good wife, good sibling, and get all my work done while at it. Instead, I’ve learned to focus and do whatever I’m doing the right away and focus on that.
6. What’s a short funny antidotal learning moment you have had as a mom?
I always used to say “I’d like to sleep like a baby” – where did that come from? Because they wake up every few hours! So I’d rather sleep like I used to sleep pre-baby: 8 hours, without waking up.
MILLY Pieces for Mother’s Day
I have three special outfits courtesy of MILLY for today’s post. The first and my favorite features these gorgeous palazzo pants. They come in two colors and are super lightweight. Perfect for many summer occasions - pool, beach, dinner, etc. I paired them with a white shoulder tank - simple yet effective.
The next item is a short and top set. This zebra set is perfect for Summer as well. The top is off-the-shoulder and hits just above the waist. But the real stars here are the shorts - easy to pair and style for a night out, or to go to the beach in flats.
Lastly, we have a dress - can’t forget a dress! This floral black and white dress is light weight and super comfy. Easy to style and can be worn anywhere!
